Conference Speaker – Public Speaking
Conference Keynotes – Public Speaker
As Public & Keynote Speaker, I accentuate the need to use our inner strengths, the need to rely on them when considering career options and the need of helping gifted people find their voice and develop their obvious talents. It’s been my great pleasure to facilitate professional development sessions, conference sessions and keynote international talent development conferences.
I like to share my passion for different subjects with others in public.
I am in particular passionate about transferring knowledge and making other conscious about the necessity for working on emotional literacy and supporting social-emotional needs of gifted population. The image of gifted is distorted and inaccurate and seriously suffer from prevalence of myths about giftedness.
I talk in public about the various ways gifted students “feel” differently from the rest of the student population. I explain common challenges that gifted experience: stress, perfectionism, procrastination, and underachievement, along with other challenges that can make them be at-risk. Knowing these differences can help us give better support and guidance to them so they can make better use of their talents. Without this knowledge, not only that it is more likely that gifted students will be viewed through a lens of misunderstanding, pathology and misdiagnosis, but we are losing a great number of incredible and unique combination of talents that would have enriched and enhanced the progress of our society.
I also speak about the necessity to start early career guidance, and having employees using use their strengths in everyday activities. I want to spread a message and make others think actively how to develop their inner gifts because everybody is born with unique set of skills. I want for us to overcome limits of linear career counselling: fitting in the box & passive view of job search that Alain de Botton resume well in the phrase: “Someone from the sky will come and say: You should be in logistics!”. I promote cyclical rather than a linear path of career development.
Career counselling should have strengths-based and development approach, strong values of GiftedLab.
Don’t ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive and go, go for it. Because what the
world needs is people who have come alive.
