About Workshop:
Communication Workshops respond to a question: why teach and have workshops about communication skills?! First of all, there is a wrong assumption that we come with natural, inborn knowledge and skills to communicate with others. We learn to speak quickly but we learn to communicate all our life. Good communication skills are the cornerstone of successful personal and professional life. By enhancing communication, negotiation, assertiveness, reframing, rephrasing and negotiating skills, we can all get extra benefits in life and career.
These series of workshops will tackle different topics in connection with communication:
• Types of communication
• How to read verbal and non verbal signs in order to be better communicator?
• How to read space and time as tools for messages transmission (Proxemics)?
• How to spot human lie or manipulation in verbal and non-verbal cues?
• Types and significance of games people play with each other
• Healthy and unhealthy communication: signs of validation, manipulation
• Types of difficult people
• Communication & cultural diversity. How to decode and respect culture codes?
• Types of communication skills
• Confusion, sisinformation, and „double bind“ communication
• Body language, emotional intelligence, psychological persuasion and manipulation
• Recognising emotions from facial expressions
• How to negotiate and succeed with people?
• Discover covert emotional manipulation tactics of manipulators and seducers
• Negotiating agreement, magic words for influence and impact
• Human communication: interactional patterns, pathologies, and paradoxes
• Non-violent Communication
• How to captivate people’s attention
Purpose:
- Speak appropriately with a wide variety of people
- Demonstrate a varied vocabulary
- Tailor your language to your audience
- Listen effectively

Expectations:
- Possible formats of workshops: Half a Day Workshop, Whole day Workshop, and Design Your Own Workshop
- Duration: 4, 8 and 16 hours
- Unless otherwise noted, workshops will be held online
- Small group workshop (up to 12 persons) are the most effective
- Discussions will follow group norms and emphasise respect and support for all participants
- Participants will be expected to read sections and articles before most of the sessions as this will provide background for our workshops

- All participants are entitled to get handouts: many useful resources around the subject of communication, other additional materials

+ Why do we need to teach highly intelligent people communication skills?
Gifted as minority need to pay extra attention to learning communication skills. Gifted people need to possess, not only their technical knowledge but also socio-emotional skills to find their place in the world. Communication is an essential part of their path of success. They have to learn how to analyse people, to be at ease to talk to anyone or to win in an argument without losing cool, raising voice or to engage in fight. Direct teaching gifted children and adults communication skills can help them understand and be more capable to manage their social interactions.
